Job Description

A leader in the sign industry since 1956, John’s Neon Signs Ltd is a full-service sign shop located in Timmins, Ontario. Join our team of professionals as Sign Installer. We are looking for a full time, reliable and experienced Sign Installer who can install all types of signage. Individual must be well organized, ability to multitask and ensure installations meet high standards of quality and safety. We are looking for someone that can keep up with the challenges of a fast-paced work environment, familiar with operating elevated platforms, scissor lifts, boom lifts and other related sign equipment and tools.

NOTE: Knowledge of the sign industry is an asset but willing to train.

Key Requirements

• Valid class G (Class D preferred) and clean driving record
• Working at Heights and Elevated Platform certificates
• Proficient verbal and written communication skills to effectively liaise with clients, suppliers and team members
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Multitask, organized and ability to work under pressure to meet project deadlines
• Work closely with Lead Installer to troubleshoot, identify issues and problem solve during installations and repairs
• Survey, install and repair various types of illuminated and non-illuminated signs, banners, billboards and other displays according to specifications
• Read and interpret survey specifications, blueprints, drawings and work orders for a full understanding of each installation
• Basic electrical knowledge
• Operate installation equipment, comfortable working off ladders, working at heights and using power tools
• Ensure safe work practices are followed and adhered to
• Conduct shipping and receiving duties

• Must be able and willing to travel, including overnight stays from time to time
• Work out of normal business hours such as night jobs and early morning shifts from time to time
• Must have safety boots, hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, and outer wear to work in all weather conditions, cellphone
• Ensure compliance of MTO weight regulations, daily vehicle and hours of service logs are maintained

Physical Requirements

·       Ability to lift heavy material and signage equipment (50lbs)

·       Involves working in various weather conditions

·       Comfortable working at heights, stand, bend, for extended periods
