1.0 Temporary Full-time Seasonal Student Positions – Summer

Location:                          Hearst

Anticipated Start date:    June 29, 2026    

Anticipated End date:     August 21, 2026

Vacancy Details:              40 hours/week - 7:00am to 3:00pm

​This posting is for a new position.

Seeking​ motivated and reliable students to assist with a variety of grounds and maintenance duties, including:

• Picking up and removing refuse
• Grass cutting
• Trimming, planting, watering, digging, raking
• Moving furniture and minor cleaning duties
• Supporting staff with additional maintenance-related tasks as required

​QUALIFICATIONS:

·         Currently enrolled in secondary school, or working toward a diploma or degree from an accredited college or university

·         Strong teamwork, organization, interpersonal, and oral communication skills

·         Ability to work outdoors in varying and sometimes adverse weather conditions

·         Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively and effectively with staff and supervisors

·         Valid Ontario driver’s licence (G1 acceptable)

·         Experience using grass-cutting equipment is considered an asset

·         Must hold a current, Board-approved, WHMIS Certificate

·         Ability to preform some heavy lifting (e.g., moving picnic tables)

​ Compensation:

Salary in accordance with the current CUPE collective agreement and Provincial Legislation Collective Agreements (dsb1.ca)

Students under 18:   $16.60/hour

Students 18 and over: $17.60/hour
