Work Schedule: 5-5-4, 12-hour shifts. Although this is the established schedule, the company reserves the right to modify it as needed to meet operational requirements.
Compensation: Hourly, based on experience and qualifications.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
Northern Sun Mining currently has an exciting opportunity for a Sample Receiving Technician to join our Metallurgical department. Reporting to the Lab Supervisor, the ideal candidate will be responsible for directing incoming ore trucks and executing sample procedures while ensuring accurate documentation and adherence to safety and quality standards. Please note that this is not a camp-based position.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist incoming trucks in locating truck scale.
- Weigh incoming ore deliveries.
- Efficiently organize trucks for unloading in the designated dumping area.
- Collect representative samples from deliveries.
- Accurately enter truck and shipment information into computer database.
- Ensure sample integrity is maintained according to established procedures.
- Assist laboratory personnel with drying samples to determine moisture content and/or preparation and analysis of samples as needed.
- Proficiently operate a two-way radio when required.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Work in compliance with prescribed company policies and procedures.
- Be proactive with company safety initiatives.
- Additional tasks as assigned by the Lab Supervisor and/or Engineering personnel.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma; post-secondary education in Chemical Engineering Technology or Metallurgical Engineering Technology or equivalent relevant work experience is an asset.
- Previous experience in an industrial environment is highly regarded.
- Basic Mill Process Operator Common Core is an asset.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Capable of performing physical tasks.
- Sound understanding of sampling procedures, quality control standards, and safety protocols.
