Project Manager

Location: 150 Jaguar Drive, Timmins, ON

Job Type: Permanent – Full Time

Job Description: Caron Equipment Inc. is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Project Manager to lead and oversee projects in the Timmins area. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing project activities, ensuring compliance with schedules and budgets, and maintaining effective communication with clients and team members.

As we continue to grow and take on new challenges, we are seeking a talented and experienced Project Manager to join our dynamic team. This pivotal role offers the opportunity to lead complex construction projects, drive operational excellence, and contribute to the success of impactful initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage project tracking tools, including monitoring design and construction schedules and estimates.
  • Lead client update meetings and provide comprehensive project management oversight, including tracking and reporting progress.
  • Oversee productivity, costs, and project milestones to ensure targets are met.
  • Coordinate the preparation and submission of as built and design drawings, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
  • Identify and resolve issues related to project reporting and execution.
  • Provide data and insights for month-end reconciliation and reporting.
  • Maintain detailed and organized files and correspondence for active and completed projects.
  • Prepare meeting packages and reports; track action items and ensure follow-up.
  • Ensure compliance with internal project reporting standards and provide assurance support.
  • Collaborate with clients, contractors, and internal departments to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Lead the overall planning and scheduling to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Promote and ensure adherence to safety standards and protocols across all project activities.
  • Provide supervisor support and management.
  • Coordinate effectively with clients.
  • Implement budget and cost tracking systems.
  • Review and plan project schedules.
  • Review and approve timesheets.
  • Complete weekly and monthly reports.
  • Attend weekly meetings to discuss project progress and issues.
  • Conduct site operations audits.
  • Provide technical support and review RFIs (Requests for Information).
  • Report equipment hours and ensure accurate tracking.
  • Review shift costs and adjust operations to meet targets.
  • Provide leadership to achieve or exceed all production targets.
  • Maintain clear communication with workers, management, and clients.
  • Work closely with management and the HR department.
  • Supervise and direct employees to ensure effective team performance.
  • Participate in hazard analysis reviews and implement necessary actions.
  • Plan and supervise day-to-day operations on site.
  • Support incident investigations and collaborate with the safety team when required.
  • Conduct toolbox meetings to promote safety and efficiency.
  • Organize priorities based on deadlines and project needs.
  • Problem-solve to identify and resolve issues or improve processes and procedures.
  • Demonstrate excellent leadership and organizational skills.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a project management role, preferably in the construction industry.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Project, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated, with a proven ability to learn new skills, assume responsibilities, and work collaboratively within a team.
  • Effective decision-making skills under limited supervision.
  • In-depth understanding of project management techniques and best practices.
  • Outstanding safety and attendance record with a strong safety awareness.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and communicate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in using project management tools and software.

Preferred:

  • Certified Civil Engineering Technologist.
  • 5-7 years of experience in project management within the construction industry.
  • Ability to work at remote worksites on a rotational basis.
