Hourly Rate: $18.00–$20.00 based on skills and experience
Hours: 10–15 hours per week as needed (September to June); reduced hours
in July and August

Summary
The Program Assistant plays a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations of Literacy Network Northeast. This hybrid position requires a mix of remote work and in-office duties, with occasional attendance at conferences or events as needed. Responsibilities include providing administrative support, managing social media and communication efforts, completing data-related tasks using provided templates, and supporting various organizational activities.
Activities and Responsibilities
General Support
· Assist the Executive Director with administrative and operational tasks.
· Conduct research and provide information or referrals to relevant programs and services.
· Assist with special projects, reports, word processing, and filing.
· Coordinate and organize meetings and professional development activities, including scheduling and logistics.
· Take minutes at meetings and distribute them promptly.
· Draft reports, correspondence, and Northern Network e-blasts.
Social Media and Communication
· Communicate updated content and information for the organization’s website to the web host.
· Create and schedule content for social media platforms.
· Maintain and enhance communication with literacy delivery agencies, service providers, and the general public.
Data and Office Management
· Complete data-related tasks using pre-provided templates.
· Receive and distribute mail, maintain organized paper files/electronic files, and ensure records are up to date.
· Order office supplies, manage inventory, and handle minor errands such as picking up supplies or delivering mail.
Skills and Qualifications
· Experience in an administrative support role.
· Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently.
· Proficiency in MS Office and other computer programs.
· Familiarity with managing social media accounts and creating digital content.
· Excellent communication and writing skills.
· Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships.
· Professional demeanor, sound judgment, and dependability.
· Bilingualism (English and French) is preferred.
Hybrid Work Environment: While the role allows for remote work, the Program Assistant will be required to attend certain conferences or meetings in person and complete in-office tasks such as filing and errands as needed.
