We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual with a strong understanding of bookkeeping to join our team as a Payroll Clerk. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll, maintaining payroll records, and addressing employee inquiries related to payroll matters.
Job Description :
- Execute accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees.
- Ensure compliance with all Federal and Provincial regulations regarding payroll and taxes.
- Collaborate with HR on employee contracts.
- Input timesheet in payroll software
- Generate payroll report and maintain accurate records including reconciliation of payroll to general ledger.
- Manages employees vacation pay and attendance tracking system.
- Train employees on timesheet system
- Calculate and process deductions, bonuses, and other payroll-related adjustments.
- Update employee’s wage information when they receive a raise or bonus.
- Manage employee files in accounting system (Inputting employee data or changes in their information )
- Ensure confidentiality and security of payroll information.
- Stay informed about changes in payroll regulations and compliance requirements.
- Assist with audits related to payroll and provide necessary documentation.
- Assisting with other bookkeeping duties as needed.
Requirements:
- Diploma in accounting/bookkeeping will be considered a valuable asset
- Strong understanding of payroll processes, tax laws and compliance standards
- Proven experience of 3 years or more as a payroll clerk or relevant bookkeeping experience.
- Excellent attention to details and organizational skills
- Strong data processing skills
- Outstanding accounting and reporting skills
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and integrity.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- A background in shop and service operations will be considered a valuable asset.
