What you’ll do in the role
- Safely transport children, youth, and families to and from family visits, medical or community appointments, cultural activities, and agency‑related events.
- Ensure infants and children are properly secured in age‑ and size‑appropriate car seats or booster seats in accordance with Ontario Highway Traffic Act requirements.
- Conduct basic vehicle safety checks prior to trips and immediately report any safety concerns, incidents, or delays.
- Maintain professional, respectful, and child‑focused interactions at all times.
- Accurately complete and submit mileage and time sheets in accordance with agency procedures and timelines.
- Protect and maintain confidentiality of all clients, family, and agency information in compliance with agency policies and privacy requirements.
- Assist with preparation and set‑up for agency events and activities.
- Support donation pickups, deliveries, and general transportation needs.
- Perform other reasonable duties related to transportation and logistical support as required.

What you bring to the table
- Minimum five (5) years of valid driving experience.
- Valid Ontario driver’s license in good standing.
- Clean driver’s abstract (to be provided upon hire and periodically thereafter).
- Access to a reliable, road‑worthy personal vehicle suitable for transporting children and families.
- Proof of minimum $2,000,000 third‑party liability automobile insurance.
- Vehicle equipped with appropriate, compliant child car seats and booster seats (subject to inspection).
- Successful completion of a Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC/VSS) that is satisfactory to the agency.
- Provision of recent professional or character references, acceptable to the agency.
- Participation in any additional screening required under agency policy, funder requirements, or applicable child‑welfare standards.
- Strong commitment to child safety, professionalism, and ethical conduct.
- Ability to demonstrate maturity, patience, sensitivity, and sound judgement.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills when interacting with children, parents, caregivers, and staff.
- Respect for cultural values and ability to provide services in a culturally appropriate and respectful manner.
- Reliable, responsible, punctual, and adaptable.
Working Conditions
- Part‑time work may include evenings and weekends based on program needs.
- Regular driving in varied weather and road conditions.
- Occasional lifting or carrying of supplies, car seats, or donations.
