Job description
JOB TYPE:
- Mining, construction, forestry, recycling, demolition, drilling equipment, material handling
- Shop work/field work (surface) / field work (underground).
- Underground wage premium, Night Shift premium, Beat premium

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Communicate with customers to provide advice and assistance.
- Assist in training / teaching apprentices.
- Repair + Service Sany Heavy equipment, as well as other makes and models.
- Perform electrical, hydraulic, + mechanical maintenance.
- Anticipate + troubleshoot break downs, list parts required + process orders.
- Prepare daily service reports.
- Maintain safe, clean, respectful working environment.
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL:
- Possess knowledge + skills to conduct both minor and major repairs.
- Be committed to taking pride and accountability in your workmanship.
- Self-motivated & proactive work ethic.
- Ability to work with a group of highly skilled technicians or alone in the field.
- Ability to interact in a positive and welcoming way with external and internal customers.
- Ability to coach and mentor apprentices.
- Be open to learning new things on a daily basis.
- Have exceptional diagnostics skills.
- Interested in being up to date on latest technology.
- Possess a valid G driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Possess a Heavy Equipment Technician Red Seal Certificate (421A). (Preferred, but not limited to)
- Possess own hand tools. (Specialty tools supplied by TMSI)
REQUIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Possess a minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Heavy Equipment Technician OR equivalent
- Possess a Heavy Equipment Technician Red Seal Certificate (421A) OR equivalent.
- Possess a valid G driver’s license with a clean driving record. (must supply drivers abstract)
- Possess excellent troubleshooting skills in electrical and hydraulic.
- Possess pro-active, self-motivated work ethic.
- Possess own tools.
EXPERIENCE:
- Heavy Equipment Mechanic: 5 years (Preferred)
- EDUCATION: AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (Preferred)
- LANGUAGES: English, French
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Up to $50.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
