Timmins and District Hospital is currently recruiting qualified applicants for the following position:

Data, Privacy, and Security Analyst

 Full-time

Position Overview:

The Data, Privacy and Security Analyst provide support for the organization's data reporting, business intelligence, privacy, cybersecurity, and information management activities. Reporting to the IS/IT Manager & Privacy Officer and working closely with the IT Coordinator, the incumbent supports data reporting, data governance, privacy compliance, cybersecurity monitoring, and digital transformation initiatives.

 

The role assists with the development and maintenance of reporting solutions, dashboards, analytics tools, privacy and cyber security monitoring, and information management practices. Working collaboratively with IT and privacy leadership, the position helps strengthen the organization's ability to leverage data and technology to support privacy best practices, enhance cybersecurity posture, and promote the responsible and safe adoption of artificial intelligence, while improving overall organizational performance.

 

Position Responsibilities:

1.     Develop, maintain, and support reports, dashboards, and business intelligence solutions using Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, SQL, and related tools.

2.     Assist with data collection, validation, analysis, and reporting activities.

3.     Identify opportunities for reporting automation and process improvement.

4.     Support data governance, and information management initiatives.

5.     Support privacy and security compliance activities in collaboration with the Privacy Officer, including privacy reviews, Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs), investigations, audits, and education initiatives.

6.     Support cybersecurity monitoring, security reviews, Threat Risk Assessments (TRAs), incident response activities, and user access audits.

7.     Assist with identifying, documenting, and mitigating privacy and cyber security risks.

8.     Support compliance with organizational policies, PHIPA, and information security best practices.

9.     Assist with data integration, interoperability, automation, and emerging technology initiatives.

10.   Support the adoption of technologies such as Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Microsoft Purview, artificial intelligence, and other digital solutions.

11.   Collaborate with internal stakeholders, vendors, and external partners on data reporting, privacy, cybersecurity, and information management initiatives.

12.   Assist with user training, documentation, presentations, and committee reporting as required.

13.   Provide support to IT and privacy leadership in the review of research proposals, including assessment of privacy and cybersecurity implications.

14.   Contribute to the drafting, updating, and maintenance of organizational policies related to data, information security, privacy, cybersecurity, and information governance.

15.   Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned by the IS/IT Manager & Privacy Officer to support departmental operations, organizational initiatives, and the effective delivery of information technology, privacy, cybersecurity, and information management services.

 

Position Requirements:

Qualifications:

1.   Undergraduate degree in Information Technology, Health Informatics, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Cybersecurity, Business Administration, Commerce, or a related field.

2.   Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.

3.   Power BI Data Analyst Associate Certification

4.   Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply legislation, policy, and precedent.

5.   Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset.

 

Experience:

1.   Two (2) to three (3) years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, information technology, privacy, cybersecurity, healthcare informatics, or a related field.

2.   Experience with Microsoft Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, SQL, and reporting tools.

3.   Experience in healthcare, privacy, cybersecurity, or information governance is considered an asset.

Personal Suitability:  

1.   Knowledge of data analytics, business intelligence, and reporting principles.

2.   Understanding of healthcare privacy legislation, including PHIPA.

3.   Understanding of cybersecurity and information security concepts.

4.   Proficiency with Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, SQL, Microsoft 365, and related technologies.

5.   Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

6.   Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining confidentiality and attention to detail.

7.   Proven ability to work independently and in a team environment.

8.   Demonstrated ability to perform with minimal supervision; to prioritize duties.

9.   Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.

10.       Demonstrated professionalism in dealing with confidential and sensitive issues.

11.       Demonstrated positive work record and excellent attendance record.

  • Bilingualism (French and English) would be considered an asset.

·         Starting salary of $44.30/hour; $86,385.00/year range to 54.98/hour; $,107,211.00year
