POSITION SUMMARY
Under the direction and supervision of the Senior Director - Operations, the Junior Regional Economic Development Officer supports the delivery of regional and community-level economic development initiatives under the guidance of the Senior EDO. This role focuses on research, coordination, community engagement, and project implementation while building long-term skills in Indigenous economic development.
REQUIREMENTS
• Post-secondary education in business, economic development, planning, social sciences, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• 1–3 years’ work experience in community development, research, or project coordination
• Interest in Indigenous economic development and regional planning
• Experience in business and community development marketing.
• Experience in project management
• Communications: oral, written, and computer based; applied to grassroots, industry, government and organizational contexts.
• Financial and Managerial Accounting, basic financial accounting principles including bookkeeping, reading financial statements, developing capital and operating budgets, tracking cash flow, and undertaking financial planning.
• Ontario “G” Driver’s license is an asset
• Ability to speak the Cree Language is an asset
• Ability to travel to Mushkegowuk Communities
